Tablet update

The tablet that acts as a display on the Te Kahu Ora camera recently updated its operating system software. The main impact of this is that it is a little harder to find the Te Kahu Ora app.

Finding the Te Kahu Ora app

The tablet runs the Android operating system. When we shipped it to you we hid most of the apps that ship with the tablet and had the Te Kahu Ora app front and centre to make it easy to find and open. Unfortunately when the operating system updated it bought back all the default apps and removed the shortcut to the Te Kahu Ora app. The screen will look something like this:

You can still find the Te Kahu Ora app by swiping up from the bottom and selecting it from the list of apps. It will look something like this:

You can open the app from here.  If you want to make it easier to access then you can drag the Te Kahu Ora app down to the middle of the bottom of the screen and your homepage will look a like this.

Default USB tethering

One positive change to the operating system is it remembers the default USB tethering setting - so you only have to set this once.

To do this click on the settings icon, then go to System | developer options| in the Networking section (default US configuration) | select USB tethering
